Gangster Meyer Lansky was arrested in 1972 for suspicion of income-tax evasion; however, he was acquitted in 1973. By this time Lansky was about 73 years old and because of his failing health, other charges against him were abandoned. In May of 1983, Lansky died of lung cancer in Miami Beach, Florida. He was estimated to have been worth $400 million when he died...WOW!

Carlo Gambino

In 1969 Carlo Gambino a.k.a. Don Carlo who was the Mafia boss from 1957-1976 was charged with masterminding an armed robbery truck hijacking. Born in Palermo, Sicily, Gambino entered the U.S. illegally and never became a citizen. With that, the Feds tried to have him deported however, Gambino would always end up in the hospital for his bad health and his doctors proved he had heart trouble therefore would not be able to make the trip. By happenstance in October of 1976, Gambino died of a heart attack while watching the New York Yankees. It was rumored that Gambino’s family bought off two U.S. Senators (who have always remained unnamed) to allow him to remain in the United States. The payoff was for $25,000 a year for each of the Senators for life, if the deportation order was stopped.

Al "Scarface" Capone

Al Capone, born Alphonse Capone was born in Brooklyn, New York started working for Johnny Torrio in Chicago at the age of 22. Capone was responsible for getting proprietors to buy Torrio’s illegal alcohol. Capone took over and expanded the business by killing his competitors. The police could not get any evidence to convict Capone of murder so instead they arrested and charged him with tax evasion in 1931. He was released in 1939 but was unable to sell illegal alcohol. He died in 1947. Allegedly Capone had shown signs of the effects of syphilis and his mental strength had faded.

Axl Rose

Faith Evans, 30, Was arrested January 27th, 2004, in Georgia for drug possession along with her husband Todd Russaw. She was stopped by Hapeville police in a routine traffic stop and check. When her car was searched the cops found small amount of marijuana and cocaine. Evans was also married to Chistropher Wallas AKA Notorious B.I.G. who was killed in 97.

Bobby Brown was arrested in November 2002 for speeding, driving without a valid license and proof insurance, and drug possession (marijuana). Rapper DMX, a.k.a. Earl Simmons, is a lightweight when it comes to comparisons with his fellow rap stars: maybe he’s just smarter than they are? This mug shot is from his arrest in March of 2001 by the Erie County (Buffalo, New York area) police on charges he was cruising around without a license. At least he didn’t shoot anybody!

Embarking on a long career as a bank and train robber, James gained folk hero status and the assistance of the local population who saw him engaged in a gallant struggle with the railroads and banks who sought to destroy the economy of the South. With his ever-shifting gang of cohorts, he remained at large for 16 years, until he was shot in the back in 1882 by an associate, Bob Ford, for the large reward money. He remains a cult hero to this day.

Christian Brando

Christian, seen here in a mug shot taken in May 1990 by the LAPD after his arrest on charges he murdered his sister’s boyfriend, had a long history of substance abuse and emotional problems, when he shot sister Cheyenne’s boyfriend Dag Drollet, saying he believed Drollet was physically abusing his pregnant sister. Brando pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the case, and served almost five years before he was released.

Christian Slater, the popular Hollywood actor, who was born Christian Michael Leonard Gainsborough, was arrested in August 1997 for assault and battery in a domestic incident. He was reported to even have tried to grab a policeman’s gun. Slater was also arrested in 1989 for DUI which involved a freakin’ car chase, and again in 1994 for attempting to take a gun on a plane. Huh? What was he thinking?

Added 04/19/2005 - Yep, that's Chris Tucker, comedian and co-star of the "Rush Hour" movies - we think he's maybe taking his starring role a little too seriously. This mug shot was taken on April 17, 2005 by Georgia cops after they busted him for allegedly driving his Bentley 109 MPH on Interstate 20. They also popped him for eluding after he didn't immediately pull over when they shined the lights on him. Dude, what's your hurry?

We were told this mugshot was taken in 1970 at the FBI headquarters in Washington DC, when Elvis visited President nixon and asked that his mugshot be taken for the fun of it. We are not sure if this is true and we are not even sure if this is a real Elvis mugshot or not. If you have any more info about it, please let us know.

Dutch Schultz was born in Bronx, New York in 1902. Schultz started his own bootlegging industry and was arrested in 1931 on charges of Tax Evasion. After prison, Schultz moved rackets to New Jersey and in October of 1935 he was murdered by a hit-man for the Murder, Inc. while he was having dinner.
